High Availability
nSignia is powered by Ulticom’s field-proven, carrier-class Signalware architecture, designed to address the high availability requirements of wireless, IP, and wireline networks. With multiple levels of redundancy at the process, platform, and network levels, nSignia provides proven, fault-resilient operation.
nSignia functions as a pure autonomous network component capable of self-recovery from a number of software failures, without affecting overall platform serviceability. This advanced recovery feature, combined with a duplex, clustered, high-availability platform environment not only enables optimal network operation, but also decreases the number of critical or hot site issues.
Scalability
A scalable system lowers the entry price barrier and nSignia is designed to be scalable at the both the processor and platform levels, as well as at the TDM and IP network levels. This enables nSignia users to minimize their deployment costs while supporting incremental growth as demand increases.
Load Sharing
nSignia supports load sharing at the service (Application Server) levels, thanks to its SIGTRAN architecture, and at the platform levels, thanks to the fundamentals of Ulticom’s Signalware architecture.
Performance
With proven performance and scalability, nSignia supports traffic throughput and routing requirements from small "offload plug" platforms, with low MSU-per-second requirements to larger edge Signaling Transfer Points (STP), with higher throughput and routing requirements.
OAM&P
nSignia provides a number of interfaces for Operations, Administration, Maintenance, and Provisioning (OAM&P), including MML, Web based GUI, and SNMP. The nSignia solution, both platform and signaling topology objects, can be easily managed and configured. SS7 links can be activated or de-activated, destination point codes can be defined, subsystem numbers set, Routing keys modified, Global Title rules enhanced, etc.
Monitoring
nSignia also provides monitoring capabilities. Measurements can be recorded for subsequent delivery to an Operations Center or taken for use in designing optimum system performance or diagnosing performance issues.
