Signalware® was designed to address the high availability requirements of the
circuit, packet, and wireless networks. With multiple levels of redundancy at the
process, platform, and network levels, Signalware provides proven, fault-resilient
operation.
Process
- Has capabilities to automatically restart failed processes
- Provides the capability to designate back-up processes
- Provides the capability to maintain active, standby, and idle copies of processes
that share a common set of data
Platform
- Supports clusters with 2 to 4 Computing Elements (CE)
- Signalware clusters appear to the network as single platforms (point codes)
- The point codes will remain available provided that a single CE survives within
the cluster.
- Has capability of automatically restarting failed Signalware instances without operator
intervention
- Supports multiple LAN connections between CEs
- Supports optional serial connections between CEs that augment Signalware's ability
to manage CE failures and prevent the cluster from dividing into independent entities
(i.e. multiple platforms with the same point code).
- Operates with Sun Cluster 3.1
or Netra High Availability (HA) Suite 2.0
Network
- Supports up to 64 SS7 boards per CE
- This capability allows signaling links to be distributed across the CEs within a
platform.
- By provisioning links that are physically located on different CEs within a cluster,
linksets can survive the failure of individual CEs.
