Signalware® provides a number of interfaces for Operations, Administration,
Maintenance, and Provisioning (OAM&P). SS7 links can be activated or de-activated,
point codes can be defined, subsystem numbers set, etc. The Signalware solution
as a whole, both the platform and SS7 signaling, can be easily managed and configured.
OAM&P Mechanisms
Signalware provides four major mechanisms for OAM&P:
- SNMP, based on SNMPv3
- MML (Man Machine Language), based on Bellcore standards, provides for a standardized
way of managing the Signalware solution
- Graphical User Interface (GUI), based on Java
- JOAM, based on JAIN™ OAM
Access to platform APIs
Signalware is a robust, feature rich system that provides APIs that assist in managing
the platform itself, not just the protocol stacks. Signalware facilitates system
management by maintaining a single point of control within a multi-computer Signalware
cluster.
Alarms and Measurements
Signalware detects and reports system events as they occur. The events are categorized
by type and severity. Log files are then created to store the event information
that can be used by the system administrator to diagnose and troubleshoot the problem.
