High Availability
Signalware® is designed to address the high availability requirements of the
wireline, wireless, and IP networks. With multiple levels of redundancy at the process,
platform, and network levels, Signalware provides proven, fault-resilient operation.
Scalability
A scalable system lowers the entry price barrier. Signalware is designed to be scalable
at the processor, platform, and network level. This enables Signalware users to
minimize their deployment costs while supporting incremental growth as demand increases.
Load
Sharing
Signalware supports load sharing at the process and platform levels. This is a more
economical solution than hot-standby configurations.
Performance
With proven performance and scalability, Signalware supports signaling requirements
from small, voice-oriented applications with low call per second requirements to
large network provider service control points (SCP) with high transactions per second
requirements.
Maintainability
Signalware software uses open, abstracted (C/C++) APIs and a number of versatile
OAM&P capabilities
to provide application designers with an unparalleled integrated development environment.
This advanced environment allows designers to concentrate on the development and
maintenance of services, not the underlying protocol stacks, resulting in faster
deployment times and lowered training and operations costs.
Portability
Maintaining full retention of the application developer's initial signaling investment,
Signalware can be deployed on a number of industry standard computing platforms.
(e.g. Linux or Sun Solaris). Applications can be built upon one operating system
and easily ported to another with full compatibility of the Signalware API.
OAM&P
Signalware provides a number of interfaces for Operations, Administration, Maintenance,
and Provisioning (OAM&P), including MML, GUI, SNMP and programmatic interfaces.
SS7 links can be activated or de-activated, point codes can be defined, subsystem
numbers set, etc. The Signalware solution as a whole, both the platform and signaling
managed objects, can be easily managed and configured.
Monitoring
Signalware also provides monitoring capabilities. Measurements can be recorded for
subsequent delivery to an Operations Center or taken for use in designing optimum
system performance or diagnosing performance issues.
