Signalware SP - Signaling Services Platform

The foundation of Ulticom's Application-Ready product line is Signalware SP, a middleware-based advanced signaling services platform. Signalware SP hosts many of the most important services associated with hundreds of fixed and wireless networks.

Signalware SP delivers a high-performance, robust, application creation and deployment environment for revenue-generating signaling services. It supports the major telecom operating systems, server platforms, and all major SS7 and SIGTRAN standards. Compliant to IETF RFC standards, Ulticom's SIGTRAN software enables customers to maximize the benefits of converging SS7 and IP technology. By providing a common interface across both SS7 and SIGTRAN, Signalware SP enables application developers to write an application once and move it effortlessly between SS7 variants, operating systems, and hardware platforms.

Our purpose-built SS7 boards interconnect Signalware applications on SS7 and ATM networks using T1/E1/J1 interfaces. These boards support the bus structures found on modern commercial and NEBS computing platforms enabling customers to select the hardware they prefer.

Signalware TC - Thin Client Application Server

Signalware TC enables creation of services using the Signaling Gateway (SG) / Application Server (AS) service deployment model. It leverages advanced features found in Signalware LB - Signaling Load Balancer, to reduce complexity and costs.

In contrast to the robust, feature-rich content environment provided by Signalware SP - Signaling Services Platform, the thin client approach is designed for those applications where a minimalist, yet high availability environment is mandated. It keeps the application isolated from much of the complexity of the carrier-grade signaling environment. High availability, congestion management, online upgrade, and dynamic load distribution functions are offloaded to greatly reduce the cost of service creation and support.

Signalware SF - Server Farm Services Platform

The model for telecom service delivery is changing in response to advances in internet technologies and modern computing hardware. Signalware SF is a server farm-enabling product suite that maps traditional telecom core network applications into high performance, low cost, IT-style deployment models.

Signalware SF includes Signalware SP - Signaling Services Platform and Signalware TC - Thin Client Application Server software that can be installed on the server of your choice, and Signalware LB - Signaling Load Balancer, a packaged (Sun Netra) network element that includes signaling gateway functionality and extends internet router and load balancing functions into the signaling application space.

By enabling a modern rack-and-stack services architecture using off-the-shelf commodity servers, Ulticom brings the strategy and benefits of the Internet to the telecom network core. Signalware SF uses Ulticom Application-Ready products to enable service creation, and Network-Ready products to provide network integration, message steering, and server farm capabilities.

Signalware SF performs transaction distribution via dynamic load sharing, and enables the combination of multiple computing platforms and scaling of services through the use of logical network elements.
