SS7 Tutorial

Defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), SS7 is a set of telecommunications signaling protocols used in the support of call services for both mobile and fixed calling. Learn the history and fundamentals of this telecommunications standard in this SS7 tutorial, which provides descriptions and examples of SS7 network components, architecture, and basic network operations.

Diameter Tutorial
The Diameter protocol was initially developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to provide an Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) framework for applications such as remote network access or IP mobility. Diameter has several advantages over previous AAA protocols like RADIUS in that it offers improvements in the areas of reliability, security, scalability, and flexibility. Read more about Diameter in our Diameter Tutorial.

SIP Tutorial
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) was published as a proposed standard by the IETF in 1999. SIP is a signaling protocol for multimedia session control. This includes signaling for voice, data, and video sessions between just two parties or for multi-party conferencing sessions. Read more about SIP in our SIP Tutorial.
